About Me

Kate’s counselling experience spans over 25+ years and specialises in trauma-informed individual counselling. Kate is passionate about applying trauma-informed practices for the safety of all clients. Being caring, compassionate and authentic is integral to providing healing from trauma. Providing relevant psychoeducation and practical strategies/techniques concerning life’s dis/stressors and options for healthy coping skills is essential for wellbeing. Kate enables clients to experience hope and supported wellbeing whilst working towards their counselling goals. Kate is humbled by the bravery of the stories shared and witnessing the post-trauma growth.

I specialise in working with a wide range of individuals, including:

  • Adults and Young Adults: Managing anxiety, depression, life transitions and adjustment challenges, and individual relationship counselling.
  • Individuals with Trauma: PTSD, CPTSD, grief, guilt and trauma-informed recovery and healing.

  • EAP: Addressing personal and work-related concerns and stresses (bullying, burnout, difficult relationships).
  • LGBTQ+ Individuals: Identity exploration, coming out, and relationship concerns.

  • Cognitive Emotional behavioural Therapy (CEBT): Helping you change negative thinking patterns and behaviours relating to emotional distress.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring how past experiences shape your current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
