About Me

Nikki has a background as a registered psychologist (since 1999), teacher, counsellor and clinical supervisor to other counsellors and psychologists. Nikki has worked as a school psychologist in Western Australia, overseeing psych services in 2 of WA’s largest secondary schools – in a city and rural setting. Nikki works in an open and collaborative way with her clients, working alongside to unpack strengths, resources, stressors and context with a strong desire to support clients move towards wellbeing and recovery. Nikki works with most clinical presentations with a particular interest in adolescent mental health, family work, self-harm, suicidal ideation, post-natal depression, fertility issues, parenting, and anxiety. Each treatment approach is tailored to meet the specific needs of the client.

Presentations

Nikki is comfortable working with clients aged 16 and above and has expertise in the following presentations:

  • Suicidal ideation, Non suicidal self injury (NSSI) – Self Harm
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder including paedophilic & Health OCD
  • Depression and low mood, Anxiety and rumination or Panic Attacks
  • Confidence and self esteem issues or Perfectionism
  • Fertility issues or Peri and Post Natal Depression (PND) and support
  • Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)
  • Perimenopause and Menopause
  • Stress and burnout or Work related issues including bullying
  • Relationships and family issues/conflict or Childhood trauma work
  • Adjustment challenges
  • Substance abuse issues

Therapies

Nikki has an open, warm approach focused on creating a genuine connection through a non-judgemental and curious lens. Nikki works in an integrative therapeutic framework that is collaborative, inclusive and trauma informed.

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (distress tolerance and emotional regulation skills)
  • Other Modalities include: Family Systems Model, Mindfulness, Behavioural Activation, Breathwork and Somatic Work.
  • Nikki is currently undergoing training in EMDR.
