Online Psychologists for Women in Sydney

Finding someone you feel comfortable opening up to can be hard, especially when you’re already carrying the load of work, family, study, relationships and everything in between. If you’re based in Sydney and looking for a psychologist who really “gets” women’s experiences, Pynk Health is here to help.

Pynk Health is an online psychology clinic dedicated to supporting women across Australia. Our all-female team of psychologists and counsellors offer confidential Telehealth appointments via secure video and phone.

Whether you’re in the Sydney CBD, Inner West, North Shore, Western Sydney, Eastern Suburbs or out towards the Central Coast or Wollongong, you can access compassionate, evidence-based support without needing to travel to a clinic.

They understand the realities of life in and around Sydney – long days, commuting, high expectations and the pressure to keep going even when you’re struggling.

How Online Therapy Works in Sydney

All Pynk Health appointments are delivered via secure Telehealth, so you can work with a psychologist in Sydney without leaving home or fighting traffic.

You can choose:

  • Video sessions – for face-to-face style appointments using a secure online platform
  • Phone sessions – if you feel more comfortable speaking without being on camera

Online psychology can be particularly helpful if you:

  • Have long work days or unpredictable hours
  • Are juggling kids, caring responsibilities or study
  • Live outside central Sydney or don’t have easy access to transport
  • Find it hard to attend in-person appointments because of health, anxiety or mobility issues

Many women find that talking to a psychologist online actually makes it easier to be open and honest, because they can join from a familiar environment where they feel safe and in control.

What Our Sydney Psychologists Can Help You With

Pynk Health’s psychologists support women in Sydney with many different mental health concerns and life experiences. You don’t need to have everything “figured out” to reach out – if something doesn’t feel right, that’s enough.

Some of the issues we commonly help with include:

Depression and low mood

When sadness, emptiness or exhaustion linger, it can be hard to see a way forward. We’ll work with you to understand what’s happening and support you to make small, sustainable changes.

Anxiety, worry and panic

Racing thoughts, constant worry and physical symptoms of anxiety can be overwhelming. Together, we’ll explore the patterns behind your anxiety and create coping strategies that actually fit your life.

Stress and burnout

High workloads, caring roles and expectations can take a toll. We can help you recognise signs of stress and burnout early, set boundaries and protect your energy.

Trauma and PTSD

Difficult or traumatic experiences can affect your emotions, body, sleep, relationships and sense of safety. We offer a gentle, trauma-informed space to process what you’ve been through and gradually build a sense of stability again.

Grief and loss

Grief isn’t only about bereavement; it can also follow relationship breakdowns, health changes, job loss or other major shifts. We walk alongside you as you navigate your loss and begin to rebuild.

Relationships and family concerns

Romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics and workplace relationships can all be stressful. Therapy can help you explore patterns, improve communication and feel clearer about your needs and boundaries.

Body image and eating difficulties

Concerns about food, weight and body image can quietly shape daily choices and self-worth. We provide non-judgemental support to help you build a healthier relationship with your body and eating.

Substance use and coping behaviours

If alcohol or other substances have become a main coping strategy, we can help you understand what role they’re playing and explore safer, more sustainable ways to manage distress.

Perinatal and postnatal mental health

Fertility challenges, pregnancy, birth and early parenthood can bring joy and also significant emotional strain. We support women through anxiety, low mood, identity changes and overwhelm in the perinatal period.

Perimenopause and menopause

Hormonal changes can affect your mood, sleep, confidence and relationships. We help women navigate this stage with understanding and practical tools.

Neurodiversity, including ADHD and ASD

Many women only start to wonder about autism or ADHD later in life. We support you to explore your traits, build self-understanding and develop strategies that suit how your brain works.

OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)

Intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviours can be distressing and time-consuming. Therapy can help you understand your OCD and gradually reduce its impact on daily life.

ADHD and ASD Assessments for Women in Sydney

Pynk Health also provides:

ADHD assessments for women

Comprehensive Telehealth assessments, including interviews, questionnaires and a detailed written report outlining your results and recommendations.

Autism (ASD) assessments for women

Thorough Telehealth assessments that consider how autism can present in women, along with a clear report and practical suggestions for support.

These assessments are completed online via secure video, so women in Sydney and across New South Wales can access them without needing to attend an in-person clinic.

Therapy Approaches Our Sydney Psychologists Use

Our Sydney psychologists draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, personalised to your situation, preferences and goals. Depending on what you’re going through, your psychologist may use:

Woman in therapy with a Sydney Psychologist
Sydney woman in a psychology session
Sydney counsellor in a therapy session

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

To identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours and develop more helpful alternatives.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

To help you respond differently to difficult thoughts and feelings while moving towards the life you want.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) – Informed strategies

To build skills in coping with intense emotions, managing distress and improving relationships.

Schema Therapy

To explore long-standing patterns and “schemas” that may be shaping how you see yourself, others and the world.

Narrative Therapy

To help you step back from problems, understand your story and find new ways of viewing your experiences.

Mindfulness-based therapies

To support grounding, emotional regulation and present-moment awareness.

Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Where appropriate, to help process traumatic memories and reduce ongoing distress.

You and your psychologist will talk through what feels comfortable for you, and your approach can be adapted over time as your needs change.

Fees, Rebates and Referrals for Sydney Psychologists

PLEASE NOTE: We do not offer bulk billing.

We know cost is an important part of deciding whether to start therapy, so we aim to be as transparent as possible.

For most standard therapy appointments, fees range from $225–$282 per session, depending on the clinician and type of appointment. If you have a referral and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP or psychiatrist, your approximate out-of-pocket cost is usually around $140 per session once the Medicare rebate has been applied.

You may also be able to claim a rebate through your private health fund, depending on your level of cover and the fund’s rules. The rebate amount will vary. Our admin team can help you understand your options and decide whether Medicare, private health or a mix of both is best for you.

Sessions can be arranged weekly, fortnightly or less often, depending on what feels manageable emotionally and financially. For the most current information on fees and rebates, please contact us directly.

Seeing a Sydney Psychologist vs Our Australia-Wide Team

If you’re based in Sydney or elsewhere in New South Wales, you can choose to:

  • Work with a Sydney-based psychologist, or
  • Work with a psychologist from another part of Australia who feels like the right fit.

Some women like the idea of speaking with someone who also lives in Sydney and understands the local lifestyle and context. Others prefer to see a clinician in a different city or state. Both are perfectly okay – the most important thing is that you feel safe, understood and comfortable with your psychologist.

Because every appointment is held online via secure video or phone, you’re not limited to what’s available in your suburb. You can be matched with a psychologist who suits your personality, needs and schedule, whether they’re in Sydney or elsewhere in Australia.
