Kiia Karki
Clinical Psychologist
About Me
I’m Kiia, a clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience in the field of mental health in both Finland and Australia (I am registered in both countries). I appreciate that every person has their own challenges, and there is no one size fits all solution in mental health. My approach is client-centred, and specialises in supporting you with finding the right solution, rather than ready answers.
Presentations
I specialise in working with a wide range of individuals, including:
- Adults and Young Adults: Managing anxiety, depression, and life transitions
- Neurodiversity: Managing ADHD and ASD symptoms, navigating diagnosis received in adulthood
- LGBTQ+ Individuals: Identity exploration, coming out, and relationship concerns

Therapies
I employ evidence-based approaches tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Some of the therapies I use include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Helping you change negative thinking patterns and behaviours.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Inviting you to open up to unpleasant feelings, not to overreact to them and not to avoid situations that cause them
- Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Focusing on living in the present and reducing stress.
- Ego-StateTherapy: Different sides of the self, Integrating and improving communication between the sides: derived from Hypnotherapy
- Trauma-Focused Therapy: Healing from traumatic events through targeted interventions. Currently completing Psychotherapy course (2026), so my knowledge is deepening constantly
- Schema Therapy: Helping partners improve communication and resolve conflicts.
