Wendy Mackay
Clinical Psychologist
About Me
I began my career as a Registered Nurse then Registered Midwife & worked in remote areas as well as major hospitals & the community. I gained invaluable experience helping people in remote areas where there was no counselling support, which fuelled my interest in human behaviour and hence my path into psychology.
I’ve travelled extensively and lived in Europe for three years immersing myself in different cultures. I’ve worked as a Clinical Psychologist for many years, in various areas, and most recently in the university setting and private practice. I’ve also created various workshops & retreats focused on well-being and ‘Tapping’. I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and strategies with clients and the wider community.
My approach is very grounding, informal and probably not the traditional session you would expect. I like to create a calm nurturing space where you feel heard and understood, so it’s more personal than clinical, so that you feel comfortable to be vulnerable.
I shall help you uncover any self-limiting beliefs that all of us have at times. We may not be consciously aware of them because they can be hidden in our subconscious. If you’re willing to dig deep, we can uncover them and release them. I want to support you to reconnect with yourself, be authentically you, self-compassionate, and to live your life according to your values.
I shall be my authentic self too. I shall intuitively guide and support you along your journey of healing to enhance your emotional well-being. (And I throw in some practical strategies too).
In my spare time I love to travel, garden, be in nature, go to live music gigs, eat good food, spend time with loved ones and have a good laugh.
